SaaS option for industrial, energy-optimization software
Software-as-a-service (SaaS) option for ABB Ability Optimax 7.0 energy management and optimization platform is accompanied by improved process control software. It’s reported to give users more flexibility in deploying, scaling and operating energy and process optimization software across plants and other facilities. This SaaS option lets ABB’s software manage installation, deployment, system monitoring and software updates, so operators can access Optimax without being responsible for local installation and maintenance.
Beyond providing aid via SaaS, Optimax can now harness AI-driven forecasting that predicts load demand, energy generation and energy pricing. These forecasts support more accurate and efficient energy planning, energy market interaction and enhance grid compliance. Further improving operational visibility and control, ABB’s launch of its Ability Advanced Process Control (APC) 7.0 software strengthens its process optimization offering for real-time, closed-loop control.
In addition, Optimax and APC are powered by Kubernetes (K8s) containerized software for automating deployment, scaling and management of applications, which deliver flexibility, high availability, security, observability and maintainability, whether they’re deployed on the edge, cloud or in hybrid situations. Together, Optimax and APC software are accessible via a shared digital environment, which integrates securely with existing control systems and enables continuous optimization without compromising plant safety or reliability. They enable coordinated optimization of energy and process, consider energy market prices and opportunities, and use shared data and unique user interfaces.
