Aug. 15, 2011
Here's Some of the Latest in I/O Technology

80-AMP POWER DISTRIBUTION BLOCK
This expanded line of IEC terminal blocks features a screw-clamp, 80-amp power distribution block (up to three wires in, four wires out). Available for either base or DIN-rail mounting, it is rated to 600 V. Its housing is made of unbreakable, high-quality polyamide 6.6 thermoplastic, and offers funneled wiring entry with finger-safe IP20 terminals. It is UL- and CE-certified and RoHS-compliant.

Compact PoE
The eI/O family of Ethernet digital I/O solutions provides system designers with compact, low-cost alternatives for monitoring and control. A choice of optically isolated inputs is currently available. All eI/O modules are available in Power over Ethernet (PoE 802.3af) versions to connect to existing PoE networks. DC-powered models with 9-30 VDC input range are also available.

TRANSPARENT SWITCH AMPLIFIERS
These three-switch amplifiers with line fault fransparency (LFT) reduce the amount of wiring required in hazardous area applications. NIC2831 and HIC2832 are one- and two-channel switch amplifiers with LFT suitable for mounting on termination boards. The K-System KFD2-SOT2-EX1.N provides line fault transparency to the control system in a standard DIN-rail mounting configuration.

COMPACT LUG TERMINALS
These open-style ring screw (RSC) and ring bolt (RBO) lug connection terminals can replace traditional barrier blocks. Available in 9-mm and 13-mm profiles in both panel-mount or DIN-rail-mount packages. Both the RSC and RBO terminals meet flammability class V0 per UL 94 and UL-recognized at 600 V, with a range of electrical current ratings from 30 A to 45 A.

POWER-MONITORING MODULE
The Snap-AIPM-3 monitors 480-VAC, three-phase electrical equipment without the need for a potential transformer. The module accepts voltage inputs up to 300 VAC, so 277-volt, line-to-neutral signals from lighting systems and other equipment can be wired directly to the module. It accepts current inputs from 0-5 amps, doubling the module’s previous input resolution.
