PointMax puts flexibility into I/O

PointMax I/O combines modular expansion, flexible network architectures and online configuration for faster, more flexible automation projects

Rockwell Automation’s PointMax I/O has a modular design with up to 32 modules in one I/O rack.  It is suitable for operating temperatures at -25 to +60 °C (-13 to +140 °F).  It can also be used with XT variants for harsh environments rated for GX and standard variants rated for G3 Multiple network architecture and topology options such as Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP), Device Level Ring (DLR), Linear, and Star Consistent design experience with tags and data structure common across the 5000 series I/O architecture.

Efficient commissioning and maintenance allow for use of near-field communication (NFC) technology for IP configuration through the DeviceTools app, which is enabled by HART and IO-Link technologies coupled with streamlined device integration, simplifying smart machine development.

It allows for minimal downtime through easy module replacement with removal and insertion under power (RIUP) and online configuration. Technology partner modules are available for expanded technological offerings.

It is compatible with CompactLogix 5380, CompactLogix 5480 and ControlLogix 5580 controllers, using Studio 5000 Logix Designer® application version 36 or later.
