Innovative HART communications specialty company ProComSol announced earlier this month that they now have an Android based application that when combined with their Bluetooth modem allows any Android Ice Cream Sandwich based system to be used as a handheld communicator for any HART 7 or earlier device.
ProComSol’s Android based Smart Device Communicator Application (DevComDroid), for HART instruments uses the Device Descriptor (DD) for the connected HART device to provide full access to every Parameter and Method.
DevComDroid uses ProComSol’s Bluetooth HART modem as a gateway to the HART network to turn your phone into a full functioned HART Communicator. The entire DD Library from the HART Communication Foundation is included and new DD’s can be added by the user with part of the $800 purchase for DevComDroid or $1150 with Bluetooth adapter/drivers and as with all ProComSol purchases including a 1 year update. DevComDroid allows the user to view and edit device parameters and id desired save all the device parameters as a PDF file.
