The Many Faces of Ron Helson @HCF #hart #fieldbus #engineering #pauto

Chuck Micallef sent me a photo of the present that the HART Communication Foundation gave to retiring Executive Director Ron Helson. Helson was a tireless and indefatigable missionary for HART, and it is likely that his strong advocacy had a great deal to do with HART not withering away in favor of Foundation fieldbus, but rather remaining the most commonly used fieldbus communication method in automation.

Helson was a tireless and indefatigable missionary for HART, and it is likely that his strong advocacy had a great deal to do with HART not withering away in favor of Foundation fieldbus, but rather remaining the most commonly used fieldbus communication method in automation. His pursuit of WirelessHART was dynamic and forward thinking, and he should get the credit for making it possible for standards-based wireless instruments to come to market in the shortest time possible.

Good luck in retirement, Ron!
