From Pavilion Technologies: With the 32nd America's Cup sailing regatta underway this week and grabbing international headlines, I wanted to pass along the backstory on how Emirates Team New Zealand (ETNZ), winner of the 2007 Louis Vuitton Cup, has been using Pavilion Technologies' modeling software to prepare for its showdown with defending champion Team Alinghi of Switzerland. Since the race began last Saturday off the coast of Valencia, Spain, ETNZ has emerged from initial losses for a current 2-1 lead over Team Alinghi, writing history with its first ever wins over the Swiss team in Races 2 and 3 of the final America's Cup match.
