From the "surprise party" department...

Late last year, I received a package from Béla Lipták which, his note said, was his Lessons Learned column for the month. Instead, it was a very long treatise on distillation control, never before published. We couldn't use it as a column, since it was almost a hundred times too long, so we've broken it up and will be publishing it as a set of features all this year. I am now pleased to report that we will also be publishing the entire volume, complete, as a PDF ebook, thanks to sponsorship from Mynah Technologies. We'll be releasing the ebook around the end of April, and we'll be sending out an email blast to let people know when they can download it. My belief is that this is a major addition to the body of knowledge around distillation and the control of distillation, and I can't thank Béla enough for writing it.
