Endress+Hauser Field Xpert SMT70 Tablet Among the Outstanding Products of 2018

July 18, 2019

For over 30 years now, two of the most influential publications in process engineering, Plant Engineering Magazine and Control Engineering Magazine, have asked their readers to identify the best products entering the market each year. Users vote on technological advancement, service to the industry and market impact. The recently announced 2018 awards saw the Field Xpert SMT70 tablet take Plant Engineering’s Product of the Year Award in Bronze in the category Asset Management. It also got an honorable mention in Control Engineering’s Engineer’s Choice in the Hardware category. The awards confirm that Endress+Hauser’s industrial tablet, which focuses on making device configuration and fault analysis as easy as possible, is making an impact in the maintenance world.

The latest Field Xpert update adds even more functionality to an already powerful performer. Users can connect to and configure Endress+Hauser Bluetooth devices and, like for HART, can upload assets and documents via PROFIBUS, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, CDI and Wi-Fi. Photos of specific assets can also be uploaded to their digital twins in the Netilion ecosystem and device documentation in the Netilion Library can be accessed by a single click. These, together with other improvements, will make asset management easier than ever before.
