Omron STI to host 35+ regional seminars

May 8, 2009

FREMONT, Calif. – Omron Scientific Technologies, Inc. will host more than 35 regional US Skill Builder training seminars from June through August of 2009. Skill Builder seminars are one-day training seminars designed to educate plant personnel on the requirements and methods of machine and process safeguarding to help them identify, and sometimes correct, machine safeguarding discrepancies. Skill Builder attendees will walk away with a greater understanding of methods for machine safeguarding and the correct application of guarding devices.

“Are your company’s machines guarded to relevant standards? Have all steps have been taken to prevent injuries from process equipment? Has a documented machine guarding assessment been performed on your machines to verify compliance? If a company cannot definitively answer ‘yes’ to these questions, they are an ideal candidate to benefit from a Skill Builder,” says John Peabody, Omron STI vice president.

Each seminar is limited to a maximum of 30 attendees and is intended for EH&S, plant maintenance, plant engineering and production management personnel, and other management-level stakeholders concerned with the safety of plant personnel. Attendees will be trained on:

·         Identifying machine hazards
·         Machine hazard risk assessment
·         Machine guarding techniques and the latest safeguarding technologies
·         Machine guarding requirements as set by regulatory and consensus standards
·         Safety circuit design requirements based on risk level
·         Practical application.

The cost to register is $250 per attendee, and Omron STI will fully refund the registration fee to anyone not completely satisfied with the seminar. More information is at http://www.sti.com/skillday/
